Amazing urban fox photos
Bristol-based wildlife photographer Sam Hobson has spent past few months photographing his local foxes as they develop from cubs into young adults.
Sam Hobson is a wildlife photographer with a passion for showcasing the wildlife that lives alongside us in towns and cities. Based in Bristol, he has spent the last few months photographing his local foxes as they develop from cubs into young adults.
He says, “I got to know this family of foxes pretty well and felt like they started to accept me as one of the gang. At first they were a little wary, but quickly lost their fear of me and my camera, allowing me to get these close-up portraits and photograph them behaving naturally”.
To capture the BBC Wildlife Magazine November 2014 issue cover shot, Sam set up his camera with 2 off-camera flashes and used a Pocket Wizard remote trigger to fire his camera from a distance.
Sam’s pictures have been awarded in Wildlife Photographer of the Year, GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year and British Wildlife Photography Awards competitions.
